This is a really cute bag though the pictures are a bit misleading and sometimes it's hard to imagine the size just from the given dimensions. The model in the picture is tiny, believe me, this bag is not going to dwarf you like it looks in the picture. I use it to carry heavy reference and text books to and from the library and because of the design of the handles (each strap being one piece that's sewn-in all the way around) I've never felt like the strap would tear. However the strap don't have enough of a drop so when the bag is filled I just hold it in my hands because slinging it over a shoulder would be tight and uncomfortable. The bag is 100% cotton so it gets dirty quickly and new jeans or other inks in fabrics can transfer on if it's rubbing against your thigh or side.The best part of this bag though is that being cloth means I can fold it tightly and use it as a shopping tote whenever I need it. I just roll it tight and secure with a rubber band. It works better than most shopping totes because even when filled with heavy books or groceries the straps don't eat into you hands. I've carried a large watermelon and four large heavy art history reference books in it multiple times and it held great. When it gets dirty just pop it in the washer, clean with clod water, and I just allow it to air dry. So far it has held up great.
